Installing the LAV codecs to enable Ultra quality mode

To be able to use the Ultra quality setting you’ll need to install a third party decoder. The LAV decoders are highly recommend for this.



The LAV Decoders

The LAV filters and decoders are an Open Source set of DirectShow filters that allow the playback of high quality video way beyond Microsoft's own Media Foundation solution. By installing them you will be able to play the highest quality version of We Are Stars and experience the show in true 4096x2048 per eye Stereo 3D and at a whopping 60 frames per second.


To install the LAV decoders

Visit github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases

Download the latest installer, currently LAVFilters-0.68.1-Installer.exe

Once downloaded open the installer and follow the on screen instructions.

There are several options available to you during the installation but we recommend the default settings.

Once you arrive at the final page and have the option to open one of the LAV configuration choose to open the LAV Video Configuration.

The LAV video settings dialog will appear. If this doesn’t happen you can open the LAV video dialog by simply searching for “LAV Video” in the start menu.

For people with Nvidia Video cards is is highly recommended to change to “Hardware Decoder to use:” dropdown to “NVIDIA CUVID”. This will give you the smoothest playback currently available.

Click Apply to accept the changes and go back to We Are Stars.

You system should now be set up to play We Are Stars in Ultra quality.
